Course Content Summary

According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, nearly one in ten farm workers experiences some form of electrocution on the job. Accidents like this are often sudden and unexpected, but there are ways to protect one’s self from these types of accidents.

This Good Day’s Work class offers training that creates an awareness of these dangerous electrical situations on a farm operation, including contact with overhead power lines, live circuits, poorly maintained electrical equipment and more. This course also includes safety training on generators, electrical wiring and voltage meters.

Who Should Take This Course?

For optimum OSHA compliance:

  • Everyone within your operation who may be required to do any sort of electrical wiring or maintenance, even something as minor as flipping a breaker, should take this course annually.
  • Everyone within your operation who may be driving tractors with front-end loaders, portable grain augers, fold-up implements, boom trucks or cranes.
  • Everyone within your operation who may work with electric generators, from small portable units, to tractor PTOs, to large industrial auto-start units.
  • Supervisors of the abovementioned personnel.
